About

Kings Swim School has been teaching swimming in Christchurch for more than 30 years, and moved into its own purpose built facility on Main South Road in Sockburn after outgrowing earlier pools in Aidanfield and Upper Riccarton. It is run by co-owners Pam Berry-Mason and Todd Mason alongside director Nick Woolley, who led the build. Classes run from 25 minutes to an hour and cover infants a few months old through to adults, with a separate learn to swim pool held at 33.5 degrees for babies and preschoolers. Every instructor completes a minimum of 20 supervised training hours before taking a class on their own.

Co-owner Pam Berry-Mason has 20 years in swim education and 40 years in teaching, and holds a Bachelor of Teaching and a Diploma in Educational Management
